Max International is proud to congratulate Joey Sarmiento, the General Manager of Max Philippines, for his appointment as Chairman of the Direct Selling Association of the Philippines (DSAP) for 2014.

The DSAP is the recognized organization of legitimate direct selling and network marketing companies in the Philippines and is an affiliate of the World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA) based in Washington D.C.  Its member companies include global leaders in the industry that support the advocacy of spreading legitimate and affordable business opportunities worldwide.

Max International Philippines GM and DSAP Chairman Joey Sarmiento takes part in the swearing of the oath for officers and board members at the recent DSAP General Membership Meeting led by Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission Director Atty. Lalaine Monserate.

After being sworn in as acting DSAP Chairman, Joey Sarmiento shared the following statement, “2014 will be a banner year for DSAP.  This year, the direction is to market the direct selling and network marketing industry as a legitimate source of business opportunity and be a vehicle to improve the quality of lives of more and more Filipinos.  As a team, we are committed towards making DSAP the acknowledged authority in direct selling and network marketing, as well as in actively sharing the rewarding benefits that its membership has to offer.  We would like our stakeholders to look forward to exciting events happening this year.”

Prior to his Chairmanship, Joey Sarmiento served as a member of DSAP’s Board of Directors and has spearheaded various Anti-Pyramiding projects in partnership with local government agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry and the Security and Exchange Commission.  These projects are primarily designed to protect the legitimate players in the industry and the public by providing education on how to differentiate legitimate companies from pyramiding ones.    He is also currently the head of DSAP’s Government Affairs Committee and will be working closely with the Senate Committee on Trade, Commerce and Entrepreneurship on a proposed Direct Selling Law in the Philippines.

Joey has worked for many years a strong advocate for the direct selling and network marketing industry.  He has over 28 years of experience with many multinational companies and has worked for years with the DSAP and the government’s Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to fight for strong consumer protection against pyramiding companies.  Joey holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Max International is honored to be represented by Joey Sarmiento in the DSAP and we are eternally grateful for all the work he has done on behalf of the entire industry.  We’re confident that Joey will continue to support the association’s mission to make direct selling and network marketing an industry founded on integrity and legitimacy in the pursuit of providing livelihood and better lives for the Filipino people.
